Insulation to floors can either be a suspended mineral wool layer beneath a timber floor or you may require a rigid insulation board to be laid over the top of existing floors. Most buildings or extensions before around 1985 did not include any floor insulation. New building regulations require insulation to be laid, normally beneath the new concrete floor slab.
