Our small wind turbines are usually considered to be permitted development where land based and do not require planning permission most situations (Check with your local council first). In some instances, you may wish to consider several small wind turbines which maybe less obtrusive than one large turbine.

Small wind turbines are an excellent source of power generation when they are positioned in a suitable location such exposed coastal or rural areas. How does Electromagnetic wind turbine braking work?
There is no physical brake disc or brake pads inside the turbine. Electromagnetic braking works by effectively short circuiting the three phase output wires as they come out of the turbine. This prevents the flow of current away from the copper turbine windings and creates an opposing magnetic field which severely restricts the ability of the turbine to rotate. Once the controller passes 10 minutes, after overcurrent or overvoltage, the electromagnetic braking will be released, allowing the turbine to run freely again. Only the WW Series controllers have the ability to apply braking for 10 minutes before release to normal operation
